The kids have attended two birthday parties in as many days. Ally finally understands what a birthday party is and always gets very excited when we tell her we’re attending one. Both the parties were simple, quiet affairs.
As parents we always want the best for our children. When it comes to throwing a birthday party, some parents choose to keep it a rather low key affair, others tend to go slightly over the top. For Ally’s first birthday, we had a small party with the extended family. She really did not understand what the whole event was about but enjoyed the attention anyway.
Ally enjoyed playing with the children at the party, there was a slide and a few toys for the children. Max was just soaking in the atmosphere and doing his own thing. After a while I looked around the room and found both of them sitting together looking at the fish pond outside the function room.
I love how Max always looks at Ally with such adoring eyes, and I love how Ally is always protective of her brother. She kept going up to the adults and saying ” that is my brother, my pork”
Usually I let Ally eat pretty much what she wants at parties but I try to limit the amount of sweet drinks and candies because I don’t enjoy dealing with her tantrums after she crashes from her sugar high.
